BMC Announces Intent to Acquire Tideway

BMC Software has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Tideway, a leading provider of IT discovery solutions. The acquisition will enhance BMC’s Business Service Management (BSM) platform and help customers gain the deep visibility into IT infrastructure relationships they need to improve service quality, minimize risk and reduce IT costs.

Tideway technology will be combined with the BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping (ADDM) solution to deliver unmatched visibility into the data center and rapidly reduce the time and resources required to model, manage and maintain applications and services.

The combined solutions will help customers:

  • Dramatically increase the speed and impact of CMDB implementations by delivering useful and accurate configuration and relationship information in hours
  • Effectively consolidate Data Center resources without compromising service delivery
  • Reduce Software License costs by up to 75% with accurate audit information
